Low D

I just sang a D two octaves below Middle C.
My normal low note is G which is an improvement of 5 half steps! (I’m just a little geeked)
It was a clear tone without all the “gravel.” I didn’t have to dip my chin and it didn’t hurt.
Man I love Speech Level Singing.

I don’t know what that sounds like and I am too lazy to go pound out the note on the keyboard.

Are you taking voice lessons? What’s your secret? Has God touched your voice?
October 8, 2007 at 6:55 pm
Peter,
I have been working on my voice pretty seriously for a few months now.
I made some real advancements when I discovered “Speech Level Singing.”
Soon I’m hoping to start a series on the websites I have used that have helped me improve my voice.

Dude,
My range has been shot ever since I joined the Navy. I used to sing in Opera’s, show choir, madrigals, and barbershop. Here I am now…a FOH mixer! LOL Ah, I’ll get it back someday.

Chris,
That’s pretty awesome. Barbershop would be fun. I don’t think FOH mixing is too funny. It’s a vitally important role (as you know.) I had to give up a lot of other things to focus on my voice.
One of them was Hebrew. I love biblical languages and it is really awesome to read the Bible in Hebrew. Skills atrophy when you don’t use them. Like your singing, maybe someday I’ll get back to a serious study of Hebrew. For now I’m excited to live in my calling.

Billy,
You keep blowing me away with your incredible tenacity to be the best that you can be. For what it’s worth, I think it’s pretty frickin’ cool that you’ve stretched your range five half steps. It takes a big man to admit that he’s not where he wants to be and then have the testicular fortitude to go the distance to get there.
Props.
