So, I’ve scheduled a meeting with my pastors and I will be getting baptized on August 5th.
I’m pretty stoked about it. I’ve been wanting to do this for almost 4 years.
For most Christians, baptism is the first step after deciding to follow Jesus. For me it’s been a bit of a different journey since I’ve been following Jesus as long as I can remember. My parents baptized me as an infant and raised me in the church.
For me the decision to be baptized again wasn’t a simple issue. I had to sift through a lifetime of theology in order to feel reconciled on it. In all honesty, I’m still not really 100% “reconciled” on it, but I have come to a point to where this is something I need to do.
A lot of people have helped me on this path, but most recently Scott Hodge has got me fired up about getting dunked. You need to watch his hilarious baptism video.

Hi,
I found a link to you through a comment on Scott Hodge’s website and saw that you are getting baptized. That’s awesome! now you get to share your testimony before a crowd of witnesses testifying to your rebirth through Christ’s death, burial and resurrection. I was baptized two weeks ago and I too did a lot of study before making the decision to be baptized. I posted an outline of that information on my blog if you’re interested:

congrats brother! I think the coolest thing about baptism is not even so much what it does to you personally, but how it blesses and encourages those around you!

Alex,
Good call. I knew there was a deeper reason the Spirit was prompting me to get wet.
